STATEMENT

“It upsets me more often these days if my work becomes too ‘nice’ during
the process of painting. I then add a few coats of paint to make
the painting go quiet again, to deform it, to destabilize it, to let the tired surface
create an impression that it is less clean, less new, less esthetic.
It often happens that I apply a few coats of paint together with a large amount
of water which deform the paper or carton enormously.  I then fold
the paper a few times in different directions. The creases and deformations
and a complete lack of varnish and beautiful frames are not an accidental result."
